GETTING TO KNOW WRIGLEY

Wrigley has been with us for five days, and we're enjoying getting to know him.  He is a really sweet dog that is pretty laid back most of the time.  He gets along great with our two dogs and loves everyone he meets.  The first couple of days he seemed to prefer being inside rather than outside, but then he saw a bunny in the yard and now wants to be outside as much as possible.  I think he's looking for the bunny every time he goes out!

Wrigley is house-trained and crate-trained.  He hasn't had any potty accidents in the house since he's been here.  He was hesitant to go in his crate the first couple of days, but now he happily runs in and sits waiting for his treat.  He doesn't whine or bark when he's in the crate.  He's content to lay down and take a nap!

We had some bad thunderstorms here last night and Wrigley had no reaction at all.  There's also fireworks popping a lot around the area and he's calm and doesn't seem scared of any of the noise, which is really great.

We also have a cat who he just discovered a couple of days ago.  He's curious about her, but he's doesn't bark or run after her.  He does perk up and watch her, but once the cat realizes there's a new dog in the house she doesn't come around much.

We've been taking Wrigley for walks and he does really well on a leash. He watches all the birds and squirrels and enjoys all the smells, but I think he's looking for that first bunny he saw in the yard!

Wrigley has pretty good manners.  He's polite when he takes treats and even sits on command and waits patiently for his treat.  Wrigley is not much of a barker.  Even when he went after the bunny he wasn't barking.  He doesn't bark at the cat, and he doesn't bark at birds or squirrels when we go for walks.  He also doesn't bark at the people he sees either.  He's definitely had some training of some sort.

It's fun getting to know him, and I'll post more as we get to know him even better!
